CLEANING OF THE RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT *

Policy: 

The Radiology Department is cleaned between patients, as appropriate, and cleaned at the end of each patient care day.

Procedure: 

The X-ray exam room is cleaned as follows between patients:

  • Change paper pillow covering
  • Imaging plate, table, and bucky cleaned with approved cleaning products as needed between patients

Terminal cleaning at the end of each patient care day includes cleaning all of the following surfaces with approved cleaning products:

  • Exam table
  • X-ray tube housing
  • Bucky
  • Lead apron
  • Lead blockers
  • Console
  • Door knobs, light switches, and handicap access buttons
  • Counter tops
